This instrument is made well and has a nice clear tone! I would say it’s not as bright and strong as described, but very pleasant. For the price, I was hoping for something ready to play right off the bat, especially since the description uses phrases like “pre-professional” to describe the type of violin this is supposed to be. When it arrived, I noticed right away that the action is way too high (nut height is too tall, and bridge is also way too tall). This sort of thing is fine on beginner instruments, but makes pressing the strings down physically difficult, and shifting causes the fingered string to be pressed down lower than its neighboring string, causing the bow to start hitting those strings. In order to use this for a student who is just entering Suzuki book 4 (I am not sure that is “pre-professional” in my book), I will need to take it to a luthier to lower the action and make this nice- sounding instrument actually easy to play. Wasn’t planning to add that to the cost, so I’m not sure what I think about the value for the money.
