How the Trade-In Program Works
1. Choose Your Upgrade
Find a new instrument of equal or greater value that you’re ready to move up to.
2. Call Us to Start Your Trade-In
Our team will confirm your instrument’s eligibility and help determine your estimated trade-in credit.
3. Receive Your New Instrument
We’ll ship your new instrument to you free of charge.
4. Send Back Your Current Instrument
We’ll provide a prepaid return label so you can take advantage of our discounted carrier rates. Return shipping costs are your responsibility.
How Your Trade-In Credit Works
Your trade-in credit is based on the original price you paid for you Southwest Strings instrument, minus the applicable refurbishment fee.
Original Purchase Price – Refurbishment Fee = Trade-In Credit
Your trade-in credit can be applied toward up to 50% of the price of your new instrument.
Trade your pre-loved Southwest Strings instrument for a new instrument of equal or greater value. Each trade-in is subject to a refurbishment fee which is deducted from the original price you paid. The remaining balance is your trade-in credit. Trade-in credit may be applied up to 50% of the new instrument’s value.
Here’s an Example
If you originally paid $800 for your instrument and the refurbishment fee is $50, your trade-in credit would be $750.
To use the full $750 credit, your new instrument would need to cost at least $1,500.
Any trade-in credit exceeding 50% of the new instrument’s value is forfeited.
Refurbishment Fees
Standard refurbishment fees are deducted from the original price you paid when calculating your trade-in credit.
