The Regency Double violin/viola case offers an option for the musician who plays both violin and viola. Black nylon covers a three-ply veneer shell and fastens with a zipper closure and lockable latch. The Regency Double violin/viola case includes a side carrying handle (or subway strap). Two padded straps are included for shoulder or backpack carrying options
The Regency Double violin/viola case is available in a burgundy or a blue velveteen interior and has a suspension feature that keeps the back of the scroll from coming in contact with the case. A leather tie secures the instrument at the neck. This violin/viola case has two small accessory compartments. The Regency Double violin/viola case accommodates up to four bows that are secured with spinners that lock into place. Matching velveteen and silk blanket, string tube, hygrometer and vaporette are included. Available 15-15 1/2″ or 16-16 1/2″ violas Weight 8.5 lbs.

The case is well made and not too heavy. It was a very snug fit for my 16 1/2 inch viola, but I got it in there. The only reason I didn’t give the case 5 stars is that I wish there were a place in it for things you need to carry around with you. You can fit a block of rosin and a mute, and that is it. I also have two shoulder rests, a pair of glasses for reading music, pencils, fingernail clippers and extra strings that I keep with my instruments. I have a bag I’ve put them all in, and I’ve jammed it in the music pocket, but then you can’t zip it up. Other than that, I love the case. My cats were investigating the new case and knocked it to the floor, but both instruments were fine, and not even out of tune. So I feel the case gives good protection. And it is way easier to carry one case than two! Maybe Southwest Strings can come up with an accessory carrying case – I’d buy it in a heartbeat!

I bought this case from SWStrings, and it has received moderate use, housed within an Altieri case cover/bag for three years. Unfortunately, this case doesn’t last. The instrument fasteners are poorly made and kept falling apart — after just three years of moderate use, they’re useless. I was hoping to have more use from this case for the price.
