The Jakob Winter Greenline Oblong Violin Case is an eco-friendly, lightweight case made from all natural renewable fibers. Using a revolutionary manufacturing process, the lining, case, and coating materials are compressed in one-step, so no toxic glues or adhesives are used. Hemp, flax, and kenaf are compression molded with bio-plastics and additives to create an extremely sturdy shell. Even the interior lining is made from 100% cotton velvet. Available with a black or gray exterior. Fits a size range of 4/4-3/4.

I bought this case to replace another one (Regency Maestro – great case) from SW Strings that lasted 10+ years. When I got it, I was disappointed because several components didn’t appear durable. In particular, the exterior latches and inside accessory pocket were flimsy and the velcro panel for attaching the exterior music pocket (for which I paid extra) seemed like it would come off after awhile. Finally, when I put my violin in the case, it seemed like it rattled around a little in there and didn’t have the support and cushioning that I was looking for.
The good news is that Southwest Strings has fantastic customer service, and I was able to send it back for a full refund. The customer service representative even gave me advice about other cases for 20 minutes, for which I was extremely grateful!
