Sonatina in the Shape of a Pearl for Violin and Cello
Title: Sonatina in the Shape of a Pearl for Violin and Cello, By Richard Wernick. Published by Theodore Presser. Score (11 pgs) with Part.
The first movement is a rigorous descending four-note motif. The tricks are Bach's; the harmonics the composers. The second movement is a miniature passacaglia, played almost exclusively in harmonics. The third movement is the most rhapsodic; it combines elements from the first two movements with a bit of fun.
