The Scott Cao "Scarampella" violin is modeled after an instrument made by Stefano Scarampella in his later years. Although he began the art of making in his forties, he rose to be considered as one of the best 20th century violin makers. The Scott Cao "Scarampella" violin is a meticulous replica of the original instrument made by Stefano Scarampella. Two piece spruce top with fine grain. Two piece maple back with prominent, narrow flame, descending slightly to the edges. Ribs and scroll similar to back. Antiqued in a warm red-brown color on a golden ground. Outfits include #VACR7 Kaplan rosin: Your choice of case or bow. Made in China.
