The "Da Salo" is based on a violin made in 1588 by Gasparo "Da Salo". An important figure in violin making, he is regarded as the father of the modern violin family. Deeply rooted in the Brescian tradition, the Scott Cao "Da Salo" features a beautiful antique finish and double purfling that is accompanied by a unique inlaid ornamentation on the back. Old-world elegance in both design and execution are accentuated by a warm, well-balanced tone.

Hand-carved from European tone-woods. Spruce top of medium grain. Double purfling. One-piece maple back. Double purfled artistic inlay design on back. Ribs and scroll plain. Finished in an oil varnish of a golden brown color on a golden ground and antiqued in the style of the original violin. Outfits include #VACR7 Kaplan rosin, Regency case, and your choice of bow.
