Born in 1874 in Bouzemont, Albert Deblaye apprenticed in Paris and Mirecourt before joining Gautier in Toulouse. In 1900, he opened his own atelier in Mirecourt and formed a partnership with H. Meunier. Deblaye served as the shop's Technical Director and oversaw all instrument making. Paul Didier joined the partnership in 1922. The shop modeled their instruments after the great Italian masters and Lupot and gained a reputation for their attention to detail, overall workmanship, and tone production. Deblaye died in 1929.
