Francois Brugere, known as "Malakoff", was the son of guitar maker, Elie Brugere and the brother of violin maker, Charles Brugere. He worked with many prominent makers, including Daniel in Marseilles and the Silvestre brothers in Lyon before joining the workshop of J. Derazey in Mirecourt.

- Violin Information: A violin by Francois Brugere Malakoff, circa 1927. One piece fir top of wide grain. Two piece maple back of vivid flame descending towards the bouts. Ribs and scroll with a tighter flame. Finished in an attractive gold-orange color. LOB 356mm.
