Born in 1877 in Juvaincourt, George Apparut began working with his father, Leon Apparut, at the age of 14. When he was 19, he joined Paul Blanchard and also worked with Georges Mougenot for a few years. He joined Marc Laberte's workshop in 1902 and remained there for over twenty years as head of artistic production. Apparut won several awards for the quality of his workmanship. He died in 1948.

  • Violin Information: Violin from the workshop of George Apparut, circa 1930. Two piece spruce top of grain starting fine, widening and shrinking to the edge. Two piece maple back of strong, narrow flame descending left to right. Similar ribs and headstock. Grafted neck of a wood similar to the back. Varnish of an antique orange color on a yellow ground. LOB 355 mm.
