The 16 pieces in this volume have been specially commissioned from leading composers and reflect current compositional trends. With at least one piece at each of Grades 1 to 8, there's something for players of all ages and abilities. Spectrum for Violin comes with a recording of all the pieces, performed by violinist Alexandra Wood (who complied the volume) and pianist Thalia Myers. The CD also includes recorded accompaniments for the two works scored for violin and soundtrack.

Le Tombeau de Couperin for Violin, Cello, and Piano by Maurice Ravel. The piece was originally written for piano in 1917 and was orchestrated for full orchestra in 1919. This edition is arranged for piano trio by Matthew van Brink.
